A good good day
We received the news yesterday, that someone is showing great interest in our house! Now, I'm trying so very very hard, not to get my hopes up, but frankly, I'm just so thrilled to get someone that likes it! We hear so many complaints, and never anything good, that it's just reassuring to know someone out there agrees with us, that it's a good house. So, we'll keep our fingers crossed, and hope St. Joseph casts a magic spell on these people.
Jared had a job interview as well. He rocks at job interviews, so I'm sure all is good in that area. Everyone should keep their fingers crossed for us in that area too!
Really, my whole day was great, just because of these two pieces of great information.

Day to day life
Alex is feeling as good as new. He is a bit bummed, he has to take it easy, and couldn't gorge himself on pizza at dinner, but other than that. Good.
These next three weeks at work should be enjoyable. I get to go on one field trip a week. A couple of them are working trips, but one is in Alex's grade, so that works out nicely. Jonas' field trip, I'll only be in charge of Jonas. I'm pretty sure I can handle him. He invited my mom too, so that's a nice parent/child ratio.
The school year is winding down. Only 18.5 days left. I think the year just flew right by. I'm so glad the kids are happy in this school. Overall, I think the school is good for them. Ah, we made the right choice.

The View
I love our view. I love all of the green and blue that I see when I look around me. The colors of nature surround me. It is lovely.
Alex got sick at school today. I think he was more embarrassed than sick, when I took him home. It was very close to the end of the day, so I didn't need a sub, although, I'll get a report tomorrow, telling me how good of an idea THAT was. Hopefully the day ended well for all involved. Alex is currently a wee bit bored in bed, which is a good sign. His field trip is Friday, and we want him up and about for that.

Visitors
Today, Jared's parents came for a visit from Manhappiness. I took one photo. A delightful photo, with Jonas, Alex and Cheryl on all their iPods/iPhone. One photo. I was gambling there, only taking one. It didn't turn out. Next time, I might want to take more than one picture, so I can commemorate the event.
Once again, I get to be marvel in the fact, that we have a wonderful family surrounding us. I often take that for granted, but when I remember, I smile.

Relaxing
I felt mighty relaxed, as I sat on my porch today. No sounds from neighbors, as there are no neighbors. The boys were in the field, flying their kite. One dog was sound asleep, at my feet, and the other dog was chasing frogs in the pond. Both of the dogs were enjoying country life. As was I. So peaceful and beautiful.
We had another vacation theme night today. On our second day of vacation, we'll be visiting the NFL Hall of Fame. So, we had football night. We had grilled brats, nacho (With the PERFECT concession stand style cheese), and soda. We played some football outside, and watched the NFL draft on the tv. I'm still a bit tired from the football in the yard part. I'm not the most in shape person in the world.

Movin’ Right Along
Life keeps on moving, even when mentally I am stuck in once place. Two of the boys have finished state testing, one day left for the other kid. Jared has a job interview on Thursday. If he gets the job, I told him I should get an iPhone. We're also full force planning our vacation.
I am proud, that we were able to put aside a tiny bit of money every month, to save up enough to go. I figure if we can do it on this income, we are set. We don't like that we missed our vacation last year, and don't plan on missing another. This just proves it can be done. That pleases me. I've been researching the world's largest ball of paint. That should be a fun attraction to go visit.
Tomorrow is a carry in lunch to celebrate either secretary's day, or the Queen's birthday... I forgot. Special Education is suppose to do desserts. Jared's being a great husband, and making some yummy brownies for me to take in.
I know it's been said before, but it's worth repeating. Life is pretty good.

That was then, this is now
I was discussing with my mom today, how hard it was to go to my grandparents. So many happy memories there, and I don't like seeing the for sale sign in their yard. I want to preserve it forever. But, I am not a country vet that can run a business out of that tiny town like my grandpa, so I don't think us moving there is the answer. She agreed, but told me of a book/story/article something, that she read, stating that was then, this is now. We must live for now.
Well, I need to create a home for my boys that will create the same wonderful memories my family created for me. Frankly, we're doing pretty good in that department. Our current home is located in one of the most beautiful locations we've ever experienced. We are surrounded by open lands and no people. We do have neighbors of course. One or two, but more tractors drive past our house than cars. We hear cows in the morning, and coyotes at night. Last night, we were visited by geese. Ladybug had no idea what to think of these creatures.
So, I will try to stop living in my past, and strive to enjoy the present, and live for the future. Life is pretty good.

Bliss
Tonight I took the boys over to my grandparents' farm to mow their lawn. Due to the fact I have three hard working boys, I read a novel, and took some photos. It was rather relaxing for me.
This place is one of my all time favorite places ever. I wish, I was independently wealthy, or worked from home, or had some brilliant idea that would allow me to work from home, so we could move here. As it is, it is a bit of a commute to Lathrop. Although, it's not *that* bad.
My drive home, consisted of me brainstorming different ways to make it possible for us to move there. I didn't come up with anything. I'll keep thinking. I need to think fast, as it is for sale. It is beyond perfect, except for the location.

PG-13 Evening
Alex is off at a friends house for the night, and Jonas is at my parents' house for the night. That leaves Caleb alone with his two wonderful parents for the evening. Currently, he's outside mowing. That seems a bit wrong, to make him mow because he's the only one here. But, if he was not the only one here, he'd still probably have to go mow. I'm paying him with Mousehunt gold. He's happy.
Tonight, we'll be dining on cheap, yummy frozen foods, drinking soda, and watching episodes of The Office that are not ok for Jonas to watch. Caleb will love it. He might even get to stay up a bit later.

Slacking
My father pointed out to me today, that I have been slacking on my blog posts. I do see him daily, so I think he has a good idea of what I'm up to, but there are others in the world, whom I know is dying to know what I'm up to.
I am pleased to find a pear tree in our yard. I just love these trees. This one, happens to be buzzing with bees, so I admire it from a distance, but it is oh so beautiful to admire. We will have to plant one when we build our house. Maybe a couple.
I treated myself to a handful of annuals and planted them in a small flowerbed next to our front door. I don't want to tear up the yard in anyway, but there was one small bed already dug. I noticed hostas in it last fall, so, I planted around them. In a month or so, it should be colorful and cheerful.
Only 27.5 days left of the school year. If you're counting. There are no full days off between now and then. I've been getting more and more exhausted each day at work. These are long weeks. There are several field trips I get to attend coming up though, so... that's something.
Nothing else of cultural significance is floating through my head right now.
