Speed Stacks
Last night was the school science fair/school showcase. Two of the boys had science fair projects, except this year they weren't judged, for the first time. Two of the boys (same two) also did speed stacks at the show. One was the first kid scheduled, one was the last. One boy, we were told by his teacher, will get to join the second graders, when they go to the challenging math once a week. It was all around, a productive evening!
You can see more photos of speed stacking here. If you're set as a friend/family on flickr.. there will be extras photos for you.

Light
I see the light at the end of the tunnel. I took the day off from work today, to work on the outside of the house. I painted until I ran out of paint. Jonas came home sick today, and will have to stay home tomorrow, so if the weather's not too bad, I can work on it more then. I'm not tall enough to get some of the spots.. lucky for me, I married a tall guy.
Carpet's going to be installed on Wednesday. So, by Tuesday, we need to have all of those areas clear. This means, all of our boxing stuff up.. should be done by then, since it can't be in any room that needs carpeting. There's intensive.
Caleb finished clearing wood in the yard, from last years ice storm. So, the yard is taking shape. This means I get one more trash day.. to get everything out. Hopefully, by this time next week, we'll be ready to put it up for sale. I'm sure the first person that walks in.. will see how WONDERFUL this house is, and put in an offer.

Explosions
Today was the big day. I had my eye on the weather. It was suppose to be nice outside, so we decided to do Alex's science fair experiment today.
We learned what happens when you mix Mentos with soda.
You get a soda geyser.
The whole family watched, enjoyed and had fun. We learned that Pepsi shoots the highest. It went all the way to the roof. Caleb shouted out at one point "how is this going to help society?" Brotherly support is nice.
You can see all of the photos that turned out decent here. I think we'll have to do this again sometime for fun.

Yippie
I came home to find an almost completely painted game room today. Yeah Jared. The inside of the house is SO very close to being finished painted. Very close.
Stay tuned for a VERY fun blog post tomorrow evening. Alex's science fair experiment will be performed tomorrow, which everyone is excited about. Jared has requested that it not be done before he gets home. I've already been brainstorming how to video it AND photograph it. It will be QUITE the fun time. Stay tuned.

Bragging moment
Jonas has read all three Diary of a Wimpy Kid books. He took AR tests on all three. He got 100% on all three. His teacher came and talked to me today. She pointed out that he's reading at a fifth grade, second month reading level, and getting 100% on the tests.
That's my boy!

More work
At some point, this topic is going to bore people. But, this is all I've been thinking about and doing.
Jared was wonderful this evening, and brought home pizza. It's getting to be a lot... to work all day, come home, get dinner going, and then start working on the house. So, tonight, I skipped the dinner part.
The kids' room is ready to paint. They helped peel off the wallies. I took out all of the nails, and spackled the wall. The only piece of furniture in there is the bunk bed. Jonas gets the game room for his bedroom for awhile. I'll paint tomorrow.
I'm still shooting for a March 1 date, for putting the house on the market, which, coincidentally, is 4 years to the day after we bought it. I'm on track right now, but working a bit to hard for my liking.

Tired
I'm too tired to post a photo.
The kitchen is brown, no longer a lovely blue. The cabinets have a fresh coat of white paint. Dishes are getting packed away. About 1/3 of the front of the house has a fresh coat of white paint on it. It needs a second coat. I'm covered in paint. Hair, face, arms, ect. We have cabinet doors spread out on the game room floor. All of our trash barrels are full. At least trash day is tomorrow.
Jared says he would rather never move, and have me be happy. I must work myself to death, to get this house ready. One week. I can do it.

We received word today... our house has to be under contract, before we can start on the new house. *sigh* So, I am going to push it into high gear, clean, paint, tear up floors, and then call the realtor. Quickly. Hopefully within a week or so.
I need to get started now. I look around, and just groan. There's a lot to do.
In good news, we should have extra budget, to get the front porch put on right away.
