New York Cheesecake

I did it. I posted every day for the month of November. Some of the posts were not very meaningful, but they were still posts.

Today was going to be a bit more meaningful, the end of a month, the end of Thanksgiving, the approach of Christmas (but not until after Jared's birthday, of course). But, instead, I'm going to tell you, how excited I am. I have been looking for New York Cheesecake Hershey's kisses for a year. They are heavenly. I even bought a bag to take to work, to share with the lovely ladies there. Heavenly.

One of a kind find

pizza cake

We were suppose to go see my side of the family, for a Thanksgiving gathering, but it was snowing, and raining, and snowing and raining some more, so we couldn't make it.

I did end up taking Jonas shopping for his brothers' Christmas gifts. While at Walmart, I found this cake in the day old food section. What a find! Deep dish pizza cake, shaped like Mickey Mouse. Wow. Perfect fit. And discounted, for the frugal in me!

Happy Birthday Weekend to Jared!

Black Friday

So, originally I planned on getting up and battling the masses, in order to get the most perfect gift for the boys. But, after researching it further, we learned, that it was not what we expected. So, no new video game system for the kids. :)

However, Alex and I did venture out. We needed a birthday gift for Jared, and he picked out his gifts for his brothers. I picked up a flip video camera, that was on sale, because since I've switched cameras, I don't have the ability to take short videos of the boys. So, now, I have a small compact video camera that fits in my camera bag. How fun! The above video is what you get, when you hand over the new camera to a nine year old.

I did realize, while out, how lucky we are. While the economy is not well off, our family is not feeling it. So, I donated to a couple causes, while out and about today. Thankful we're ok, and hoping others are too.

I’m Thankful

at the lake

I'm thankful for both material and unmaterial items.

  • My husband, who puts up with me
  • My three wonderful boys
  • My parents, who I appreciate more and more as I get older
  • My in-laws, who treat me like their own
  • My brother, sister in law and niece, because you can never have too much family
  • All of the extended family, my grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and more
  • A job I enjoy.
  • The roof over my head
  • No more worrying about money
  • My fun toys (Laptop, Camera, ipod, ect)
  • Did I mention family?

yellow

no more, please!

Anyone that knows Jonas, knows the kid LOVES yellow. Today we got him some yellow gel, to turn his mohawk yellow. He's one happy kid. Although, you can't tell in this photo. We'll make it even more yellow tomorrow, tonight was just an experiment.

Momentum

Laying tiles with feet

I bought more paint, so I can keep up with my momentum, and keep painting the house.

I have to figure out how to paint the kitchen, while I'm cooking my Thanksgiving dishes though, that might be challenging.

Mi Familia

family photo 2008

Hey looky. If only I hadn't already printed off fifty photos to send out with Christmas cards! Thanks to a tripod and a nifty remote.. a wonderful impromptu family photo. I'm thinking about doing a family newsletter this year. I like receiving them, Jared does not. A co-worker pointed out to me... if I'm doing the Christmas cards, and I like them, I should just do one! How about you? Do you like receiving a newsletter? How about a poll!

Capturing life

another fauxhawk

I have two new "toys" that will help me document memories for the future! The first is a remote for my camera. Now I can be in the pictures! Wow! The second is a cord, to hook a video camera up to my laptop. I have tapes of the past, and I've had problems getting them transfered to the computer. I'm not having huge luck with this yet, but I won't give up hope. Oh the possibilities that are out there for me!

It’s begining to sound a lot like Christmas

trumpet

Caleb is required to practice his trumpet 60 minutes a week to get an A in band. He's been practicing Christmas music for the past month, which, frankly I've been enjoying.
