Merry Christmas!
Here are some photos, of the kids getting ready for Santa last night. Santa's spread, and Jonas mixing up the reindeer food. He put the bowl of reindeer food in the middle of a fresh patch of snow, so that he could see the reindeer tracks, to see if they really ate his food or not. I'm happy to report, that indeed, reindeer tracks were in the snow. It's truly amazing.
And, because I love to do so, a movie, of our Christmas morning, put to music. I got a new Christmas CD for Christmas. I was originally planning on putting this movie to the sound of me playing the mandolin.. maybe next year.

Santa preperation
We are getting ready to pop a pizza in the oven for Santa. I bought a six pack of beer, and told Jared, to save one for Santa. Yesterday, he was drinking one, and Jonas scolded him... "That is SANTA'S beer!". I also made some Oreo Truffles for him, a little chocolate is always good after pizza.
Caleb is frantically searching for his Santa football card. He plans on leaving it out, so Santa will sign it. He also left him a note, explaining how to turn on the train that goes around the tree. With "Was it fun, circle yes or no." I tried to tell him, Santa has a lot of houses to visit, he doesn't really have time for autographs and toys. Caleb just replied "Magic, Mom, Magic." It's hard to argue with that.
(He hasn't found the card yet, and it's almost time for bed.)

Tracking Santa
We've started tracking Santa today, to see where he's been spotted. The boys were quite pleased to see he's already started delivering gifts, and has been spotted in New Zealand and Australia.

Christmas Eve Eve
The kids each got to open one gift early. They were football cards. Apparently impressive ones. With sweaty jerseys built right into the card.

Laugh out loud funny
I really enjoy a tv show that makes me laugh out loud. Here are the three shows I watch these days, that provide that stimulus for me.
- The Office
- The Big Bang Theory
- Ace of Cakes
The Office and The Big Bang Theory are just very funny sitcoms. When I first started watching both of them, I thought, this is just too funny, it's never going to make it in mainstream society. Lucky for me, The Office is loved by many. I double checked, and the Big Bang Theory has been picked up for a second season, assuming they get writers back.
Ace of Cakes, while not a sitcom, reminds me of people I know. It reminds me of kitchen work, the fun side of it. The people have a dry sense of humor, that I enjoy. It's everything enjoyable about kitchen work, and nothing bad.. if only that is where I spent my years of cooking food quickly, it would of been much more enjoyable. I enjoy laughing out loud.

Four days until Christmas…
- I was in Walmart last night, I wasn't the only one doing some Christmas shopping. It was dreadful. But, I'm done now. Thank goodness.
- Alex's Christmas program was canceled due to lack of electricity. It was scheduled to be last week. It will now be in January. He was so relieved that it is not canceled. He is very excited to portray Rudolph for the town of Riley.
- While at work, the electricity went off for about 30 seconds. I think everyones heart skipped a beat, as we thought "not again!"
- I still have every single present to wrap, for our family gathering that will occur tomorrow. All of them. Nothing started.
- I still have a pie to make for tomorrow as well. Perhaps I'm a bit behind.
- I finally got the printer and scanner installed on my new computer. I was dreading it, all the talk of things not working with Vista. But, it was quite easy, and very successful. It's more exciting to me than many would expect it to be.
- I finally found a piano teacher for Alex. Hopefully it will work out, that he will start after the new year. One of my co-worker's daughters has interest in teaching. I have interest in a kid teaching Alex, he will be a good student, and she should be cheaper than a "professional" teacher. We will work out the details when school resumes.

Creative children
Here is Caleb, on day two or three, with no electricity. His hat has a built in flashlight, bought for him by my Uncle Donnie. All three kids have one of these hats, they got a lot of use out of them. But, here is Caleb, playing with dominoes. Holding strong, good spirits, without video games.

Home sweet home
We're home. We have internet, we have heat. Life is good. I hope everyone else in the area gets their power back quickly.

Oh so close
I went to the house to get the dogs this morning, to find electricity. How exciting is that? That means, that the power line we had down in our driveway, wasn't JUST for our house. Or, perhaps it's cable, or something else.
However, while I was there, the power went out again. So, we're planning on staying at least one more night here, because a big storm is in the forecast, and if our power is still going on and off, we don't want to have to pack up and move again, if we lose it again.
(of course, irony at play, the electricity just went off, while writing this entry.. thank goodness for laptop batteries)

Electricity is overrated anyway.
We've been without power for three days. The entire town is out of power. Gary and Cheryl got power yesterday, but couldn't reach us, because of dead cell phones, and no phones. But, tonight, we're sleep in a warm home, with warm dinner.
Movies, and photos to come, because frankly, what else did we have to do?
