Happy Halloween!
Photos to come later.
The costumes were finished at 12:22 am. Alex and Caleb both requested cookies for their class parties today. I when ahead and skipped that. I explained, that I need more than one days notice, and I would be spending my evening sewing, no cookies.
I got to enjoy the holiday festivities with the boys today. I walked around with Jonas, in his parade, I went to Alex's classroom, he was even nice enough to offer me some of his treats. Caleb was not in his classroom, when I went by, but I finished up my afternoon with Jonas. Good benefit of working in the school. My students that I was to be working with were in their own parties, and I was told I did not need to work with them.

Life’s busy!
I came home for my lunch break, I need to go back to work in about 30 seconds. Adding an extra half day to my schedule is tiring.
Caleb and Jonas' costumes still aren't done. No need to panic.

Wisdom
Caleb announced today, that the moon was yellow. He then informed me.. "Jamie says, when the moon is yellow, the werewolves are out."

Worlds of Wait
Yesterday we spent the day with Jamie's family, at World's of Fun. Jonas declared, that it wasn't World's of Fun, rather, it was World's of Wait. Despite his opinion of waiting, he did declare that he had a wonderful time, and his favorite thing was Peanut's Playhouse.
Here is a movie, for your enjoyment.

Both Caleb and Alex declared their favorite thing was the Mamba. Much harder to get a photo there. Alex told me today, that he hates the height requirements at World's of Fun. Poor guy didn't get to ride the patriot. He's about a half inch too short. I assured him, next summer, it should happen.
Another movie, for your enjoyment. Listen for Jared's laugher at the end.

The boys went through their first haunted house yesterday. It was about a 2 hour wait in line, but at least we got to do the chicken dance. They were talking non stop about it today. The questions Caleb now has: what an asylum is, do patients in an asylum really look like that, does an asylum really look like that, was that real blood, did I see all of the blood?, what was the point of the strobe light, did they not know how annoying it was?, and on and on. On the way to Manhattan today, the boys keep repeating one line from the haunted house... "Do you want to play with my dolly?" and then cracking up in laughter.
At last, the final video, for your enjoyment. Alex and Jared were riding the Mamba. We learned later, that we were only about two minutes behind them getting to that area, but at the time, I did not know that. I didn't want Caleb waiting in line by himself, so he waited with me and Jonas. About 1 hour into our wait, he started studying every car that went up the large hill, and announcing.. "that's them! I saw an afro!". Then he would wait for the car to go over our head, and declare.. "nope, not them."

I have very few photos of Jamie's family. I was not a very good group photographer, I guess. But you can go look at more photos from our day at flickr.

Musketeers
I spent over two hours yesterday, trying to figure out how to turn the musketeer vest right side out. I sewed it perfectly, according to directions, I double and triple checked that. But, for the life of me, I could not get it turned the right way, without creating a large knot. I ended up taking out all of the neck seams, and just sewing them on the outside, so I could get it turned right.
I was offered a second job yesterday. It's in the same building, pretty much the same thing I'm doing now, with different kids, during the hours that I was coming home and napping. It's slightly complicated, because I will be working for two different school districts, for two different salaries, but in the same building. So, it should be good. No naps, but two pay checks. I'm suppose to start on Monday, if all goes well.

Corn maze
Jonas and Caleb both had a field trip today. Jared got to attend Jonas' trip. (No parents allowed on Caleb's trip.) The nice thing, is that I also got to attend Jonas' field trip, since I work in the kindergarten classroom. I don't have any wonderful photos, since, I had to pay attention to the people I'm paid to watch, rather than take wonderful photos of my adorable son.
Here they are, entering the corn maze. Fun times. Jonas said his favorite thing about the pumpkin patch was the hayrack ride.

tedious work
I have procrastinated long enough. I spent two hours today cutting out just a *fraction* of the fabric needed for Caleb's costume. I have to basically make three pieces of clothing, and I'm starting with the most decorative piece. I was in the process of cutting out a cross for the front of his jacket like thing.. when I noticed black, smearing on everything I touched. It turned out, that I accidentally set my scissors down in oil paint, left over from a project Jared was working on the night before. I scrubbed the scissors, my hands, and then went to inspect the damage. Just a bit of black on the outside of the decorative cross. I decided I would pretend it wasn't there. I don't have more fusing, to make another one.
So, here we sit, all of the fabric is finally cut out for the jacket like thing. Perhaps after dinner, I'll start sewing. My hands were cramping up, from all of the cutting.
I still have to buy the fabric for the shirt and pants. And a musket, we must not forget, that I have to buy a musket. I know Caleb's not forgetting.

Beautiful
I found the following paper, in Caleb's pile of work he brought home to me.
Beautiful is a perfect pass y my quarterback in fantasy football. This could seal the deal if the receiver catches it, but if he doesn't catch it, it could be a demoralizing loss. Also with running back if he scores it would be so exciting, but if one of the linemen gets penalized for holding and the touchdown comes back you are pounding your head saying stuff like "You stupid linemen you cost me the game!" Most of the linemen will not foul up. That is true beauty, because you know the game is yours. Fantasy football is cool. You should try it sometime it is pretty fun if you win.

All the cool kids are doing it.
I've signed up for NaBloPoMo (National Blog Posting Month).
I now have to figure out how to get the nifty little button on my sidebar. My head hurts just trying to analyze it. Jared has his laptop with him, so I have to use the desktop. Kids keep asking me, "when it is my turn to use the computer?" or "Aren't you done YET?". So, figure out how to put a cute little picture in my sidebar will just have to wait.
This means, I'll be posting every day in November. Surely those posts will have substance than this on.
Update: I found my password.. and was able to add the photo/link to the sidebar. It only took about 20 minutes. That's got to be some sort of record.
