I feel a cold coming on. We have no OJ to battle it. So, I'm drinking lots of water, to drown the cold.
Jonas went to the library yesterday, where Curious George visited the storytime kiddos. A preschooler's mom was there, and she photographed Jonas for me.. photos will come later.
It is bitterly cold today. But, no precipitation. The cats' water dish has to be refilled constantly, because it turns to ice so quickly.
I have a pile of laundry a mile high sitting in my living room. It's only been there for 1 1/2 days, but I really want the laundry fairies to come fold it, and get it out of here.
I'm slowly getting Christmas shopping taken care of.. only a handful more people to shop for, cookies to make, and Santa's having problems coming up with the spectacular gift for the family this year, so I have to get up very early on Sunday morning, because rumor has it, it will be available at opening at Best Buy. Fingers crossed.
Alex told me he had to take a wire hanger to school this morning. It's a good thing I trust my boys, because, frankly, that one is a bit weird. He found one though (in a panic, he remembered one minute before he had to leave), and took off.
Chili is for dinner tonight. If it is eaten without complaints, a hot lunch tomorrow will be earned. Very exciting eh? This reward is aimed towards Caleb, our picky eater.

We decorated for Christmas today! We had to start our morning at Walmart, getting a new battery for Jared's *stupid* car, but, as soon as we got home.. Christmas decorating started. We had to haul everything down out of the attic, start decorating, and slowly get everything put back in the attic. We have one last window to do.. and Caleb's doing it.
We went with an artifical tree for the first time ever. This tree came with the house. Jared and I were shocked that it had all of its pieces. We're all a bit iffy on artifical. But, there it is, in all its glory.

Today was Jonas' Thanksgiving Feast at preschool. The kids all cooked Stone Soup, and made deserts for the family. They sang us songs. I recorded 2 songs in a row, and decided.. that would be good.. I would remember it now. Then, they sang a very cute song, where the kids danced. Jonas boogied down. And, I don't have it on video. But, you can just take my word.. that it was cute.
The lighting was off for videos too. Here he is:
On a different note. Caleb got a part in the Christmas school play. He is "Kid 1". He tells us that is the second funniest part, and he's thrilled with it. Happy kid.

It has been a very busy, tiring day. I decided I needed to organize, and more importantly purge. So, Jonas settled down in my bed, to watch three shows on nick jr, and I clean clean cleaned. I have a carpet in there! I now only have a box of scrapbooking stuff on the floor, and my sewing machine. The sewing machine can be stored in the closet, but I have a project coming up. Much, much better. I can see the fireplace again, it's lovely. I even took the initiative to vacumn the carpet that I found. While cleaning, I found a pair of Oobi eyes. The kids all got some of these for Christmas one year, when we watched a lot of Oobi. Jonas doesn't remember that, or the show Oobi, but he loves his new eyes.
I also found magnetic poetry. Jonas wrote "we like eating healthy yogurt" and "hippo loves me". There was no hippo tile, but we had blank ones, so, we had to make a hippo tile. It's his favorite word! He's spent a lot of time at the refrigerator, moving around words. He explained that he put a fast forward on one of the sentences, so you have to say it very fast. I looked, and he used a quotes.. I think he was thinking of the pause symbol. We've also discussed what function a comma serves in a sentence. It's been an educational day.
I was working in the kitchen, glanced over, and saw his hand.. doing a puppet show. I just started laughing so hard.
I ventured up to the attic today to, to put away the halloween stuff. I wasn't planning on doing that until Friday, when I could also take down Christmas stuff, but, I had a suitcase, and text books from when I was in school that needed to go up there. I just couldn't stand to have them in the clean room, anymore.
So, It's a start. Next is the kids' room. (although, I did go through their closet and get rid of several shirts). The game room also needs to be gone through. Someday, this house will be clean. I hope I still live here when it is.

We were at Grandma and Granddad's house this weekend, where Jonas was drawing pictures. He looked up at his grandma, and asked "Grandma, I know a ruler is for measuring, but what I don't know, is why you need to measure things." She then explained that when you are drawing photos, a ruler helps keep your drawings "equivalent" to the real item you are drawing, and that it also aids in creating a drawing that is "proportionate" to itself. She did go on, to explain, that if you were drawing a house, and had a window that was four feet wide, that you can draw it four inches in the drawing. Caleb looked up at her, and told her.. "Grandma, I don't think he understands the correlation between those two things." She was shocked at his vocabulary. I mentioned, that I thought the vocabulary could probably be credited to a Grandma that uses words like "equivalent" and "proportionate" when explaining things to a five year old.
