The school carnival was tonight. Caos everywhere, lots of people, crowded hallways. Each boy had 25 tickets, and at the end of the night, we were working hard to blow through them. Alex and Jonas did the big slide over and over again. Caleb and I played bingo. 10 cards at once, between the two of us. I had 6, he had 4, some other kid called bingo. Caleb isn't a very good looser, cleared his cards, and mine, and turned them in, the kid didn't have bingo. They called the numbers again, but we didn't get them, to quick, we lost again. Caleb broke down into tears, because he "ruin it for us". He wanted a good prize. That is where the good prizes were. Hopefully he learned some lesson tonight.
Another booth was handing out free mcdonald's value meals, ice cream, chili's kids meals, lots of good stuff. We ended up with several coupons from that one. It almost made up for the bingo flop.
I volunteered to work concessions, 7:30 to 8:15. Other moms would say "I'm going to make sure my kids are alright, I'll be back" and then they would disappear. It was left to the lady in charge, and one other volunteer. I got out at 9:30, but was sent off with enough sloppy joes, hot dogs, brats, and baked beans to feed an army. Jared was a bit concerned that I was over an hour late.

Jonas went on a field trip to the zoo with his preschool class today. Jared escorted him. I stayed home. I sent Jonas with a camera, he loves taking photos. Word is, that wasn't the best idea in the world, jealous 3 and 4 year olds, they didn't get a camera, why did Jonas. Oops. Oh well.
Word is that he had fun. Jared and Jonas went out to eat at Pizza Hut after preschool and saw Lori from the Amazing Race there. Very exciting life in Manhattan.

Caleb received a package in the mail from his Granda Brenda, with the story of Flat Caleb, who apparently had a very nasty attitude, and didn't like being mailed, and wanted to play in the water, and complained constantly, and told Grandma she needed to go on a diet, so, on this page, Grandma told Flat Caleb to "Hush" and duct taped his mouth shut. Then, Grandma explained that she likes her Round Caleb much better than Flat Caleb, who has a nasty attitude. Caleb couldn't stop laughing, he thought it was so funny.

We went to the Spring Game tonight, the boys got tons of football players' autographs, got to be on the football field, and sat in the front row for awhile, (those seats were awful when Willie came around, and the all the kids in the area swarmed down). After halftime we moved up to the top, top area, and got to sit up very high. Following the game, we got to go down on the field. Most people are not allowed on the field, so, people ran down, stopped, and reached down to touch it. We got many many autographs. We didn't have a pen with us though, and most players didn't have a pen either. Newbies.
Moses Manu (#96) gave Caleb his glove. I got to carry the sweaty glove around in my pocket.
We dined at taco bell for dinner. We finally got home around 10:45. Caleb was the only one awake enough to pose for a photo. He's holding the poster filled with players' autographs, claw with autographs (including two from Willie), and on his right hand is the glove that was taken off of Moses Manu's hand, and put on Caleb's hand.

Today, Jonas' preschool class took a field trip to the insect zoo, where they got to see lots of creepy crawly things. He was much more independent today, and acutally left my side for the majority of the trip. He came back to me several times to give me a hug though, still my little buddy.
I finished my second draft of my thesis yesterday. I got a "WOW!!!!" from my professor, in regards to my rewrites. I now have to defend it, the date is tentatively set. It is open to the public to attend, so, I will keep the date a secret, so less people know about it. I dislike public speaking, and would prefer no audience at all. (No offense to any of my loved ones that were shocked at the announcement that I didn't want them there).
Caleb had his last day of state assessment tests today. They are celebrating tomorrow in class, he tells me he needs to bring in a pillow and an extra snack.
Alex has a soccer game tonight. The best his team has done so far is a tied game. During the last game, Alex did GREAT at goalie. He stopped goal after goal. It was the only position he got to play, because he did so great.

Tonight was Jonas' preschool spring program and fun night. I will have to try to post a photo of it later, I only had a camcorder with me. Jonas sang and danced to his hearts content. On stage, everyone watching him. His kind of night. One of his classmates, Blake, stole the show, by spinning, and putting a lot of energy into his songs. That kid is filled with nothing but energy.
Afterwards was the school carnival, fun games, prizes, cookies. Alex got to play with one of his former classmates from his old school, Caleb hugged all of his old preschool teachers. It was a nice night.
Photo is courtasy of Grandma.

Last night, Jonas told me he wanted Oreos. I told him, not today, and he started crying. So, he calmed down long enough to ask if we could go to a restaurant, again I told him no, and he started to cry. At this point, he was cuddling on my lap, trying to calm down. (He had a long exciting day.) I asked him what they had in restaurants that I am not able to make. He told me Mozzerela sticks. I had to agree with him. So, at this point, he's in full fledged tears because he wants oreos and mozzerela sticks. He then asks me, through tears, how long will it be until we can afford these things. I told him, Friday. He then very quietly sings the days of the week song that he learned in preschool. When he hit Friday in the song, he just started crying so hard and so long. It was too far away.

The Easter Bunny visited us bright and early this morning. Each kid got a disney themed basket filled with tons and tons (perhaps too much) disney items, stuffed animals, guide books, theme park music, trading pins, snow globes, mickey candy, sunglasses, watches, trading pins, pencils, mickey post it notes, mickey airplanes, and mickey mouse cookies on a stick, covered in chocolate (The Easter bunny must of spent a long time on those).
There was a scavenger hunt to find the baskets, Caleb had more educational stuff... like look in the southwest corner of our home, or find Thomas Edison's invention in the living room. Alex got poems.. like "If your hands get yucky, or even a bit mucky, don't even mope, go use some soap." Jonas had pictures to look at. They all finished within a minute or two of each other.
The egg hunt went as we expected, Caleb and Alex had overflowing buckets, and Jonas was in the backyard, because he didn't understand it was a front yard thing only. But, the Easter Bunny was sneaky, and hid a few REALLY good, and we helped Jonas with those. That balanced it out.
Each boy got peeps in their basket, because Alex stated that Peeps were the best thing about easter. It turns out he's the only one that feels that way, because Jonas and Caleb each gave him their peeps.

Easter has become quite tiring. I learned from my two eldest children that 1. the Easter bunny doens' t provide much of a challenge, and 2. Peeps are the best thing about Easter. I happen to know, that the easter bunny didn't pick up peeps this year, because you can't find a disney themed peep. So, to help out, I picked some up for the baskets. Scavenger hunts were put together for all three boys, little rhyming poems. Very cute. Took a bit of time. And, fresh chocolate covered mickey mouse head shaped sugar cookie/lollipops had to be assembled. So, here it is, Midnight, and I'm waiting for the chocolate to cool to wrap up the mickey heads.
We visited my Grandma in the hospital yesterday. She seems to be doing much better. She said my Grandpa stopped by that morning, and played the mandolin for her, and she went and played the piano for awhile. She also mentioned, that Grandpa gets hot easy, and wants it cold in their house, and she gets sick when it's cold. She said she didn't know what they were going to do about that, and if they haven't figured it out by now, they probably won't figure it out.
The basketball goal has been relocated to the back yard, where tree branches are not a factor, and the ground is flatter, and it is easier to dribble. However, there are flower beds back there, so, the boys (Jared included) have to race the ball, and swat it away from the flower beds. They are working hard to keep those balls away from my flowers. I like to remind them of the fact that some of the flowers came from my Great Grandma's house, and they managed to survive my Grandpa and his brother, me and my brother, and surely they can survive the May boys.

The tulips that Alex planted are blooming in all of their glory. Alex was willing to have his photo taken with them, but only if he took his cupcake outside with him.
I got up even earlier today, and treated the boys to homemade biscuits and gravy, and eggs made to order. Alex tells me that he prefers gravy with chunks (sausage), but it was still very good, and he would be willing to eat it anytime I wanted to make it.
Today is the last day of school for awhile, until Tuesday, to be specific. Caleb has some more tests today, but he is confident that he is doing great, and will have his name put up on the bulletin board for doing so good.
Alex wrote in school, that Easter is his favorite holiday, and that the only bad thing about Easter, is the Easter Bunny doesn't make the hunt hard enough. Caleb suggested that the Easter Bunny has a scavenger hunt to find the eggs. I told both the kids, I don't think the Easter Bunny has time to do a scavenger hunt, he has a lot of houses to visit.
