The boys spent their day glued to the gamecube. Santa knew what he was doing when he brought it. We bought a second dance pad for DDR Mario Mix, and now the kids love that game as well. It is mighty fun to have dance offs.

We had a wonderful Christmas. Christmas morning, santa brought lots of fun game cube items. We spent the afternoon with Grandma and Granddad. The kids got even more good toys, came home, and played Mario Kart, and only Mario Kart. We spent two days with Grandma and Grandpa Pete. We got to see Grandma Estyl and Grandpa Grafton, Kevin and Kristy. After two fun days there, we can home, where they directly started playing Mario Kart again. Jared and I discovered the joys of DDR Mario Mix after the kids went to sleep, and we were allowed to change the game.

We are going through "Nathan withdraw" at our house today. He was a fun guy, great with the kids, and now, according to the Caleb "The house ain't the same without him".

The kids wrapped my gifts tonight, and one more gift to each kid magically appeared under the tree for the boys. Caleb is convinced he knows with Alex's is.  I told them I stuffed it with newspapers to change the shape of the gift. (Which I didn't, and probably should, or I will get in trouble when they open it).

Nathan came and stayed a couple days with us, while traveling from Colorado to Topeka. Jared taught Alex and Nathan taught Caleb how to play spades.  It was just like the good ol' days at the dorm. After the boys went to bed (they got to stay up late playing cards), we played some hearts. Fun fun.

Today was Alex and Caleb's last day of school for awhile. Caleb got to watch The Polar Express, and they both had a party and brought home lots of goodies. Caleb gave the magnet picture frame that he made as a gift for me and Jared (I'm assuming that was what the project was) to Nathan, so he would remember him.

Jonas gave Nathan pointers on Madden '05 this morning.

It snowed all day today. Caleb and Alex went outside to play after it got dark, in about a foot of snow. They made snow angels, and threw snow balls at the windows.

Caleb is concerned that he has to be perfect all year for Santa to come, he's getting a bit nervous.

Today we watched Alex and Caleb's school play. Alex was general number one and Caleb was green candy cane number two. They both did an excellent job.

Today we made some Christmas ornaments, both for our tree, and to give as gifts. The kids all got ornaments today as well. Caleb got a star wars ornament that makes shooting sounds, Alex got a record player that changes records, and Jonas got a snoopy pulling woodstock out of a hat ornament. They all liked their new ornament to add to their collection.

After a lenthy discussion weighing the pros and cons of artifical and real trees, we went and got our tree today. We got a fir, which is absolutely beautiful. It is the first time we have been able to spurge and afford a fir. We went to a new Christmas tree place, a small family owned farm, where the kids got christmas tree coloring books and hot chocolate. It was quite nice. The boys decorated the tree, and it looks lovely. It was all finished just in time to watch the Chiefs on tv.

From Alex's free writting time at school

"my family has the bet times. In my family is caleb, jonas, hethr, jarid, willee, dagnee, paree weenckl, laee bug. We do not have a three (tree)."

The boys seem to think it is taking too long to get a tree. But, at least we are having fun along the way.
