Today it was cold, windy and snowy. I offered to pick the boys up from school today, but they turned me down, because it is so much fun to walk. When they arrived home, their faces were bright red, and they told me they would never do that again. I made them some hot chocolate.

Jonas and I went to visit Becky and Bill. Bill and Jonas played with lincoln logs. Becky and I had a nice visit.

We skipped karate tonight because of the bad weather, and stayed home and started our Christmas decorating. Caleb is anxious to get the tree up.

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend with Grandma and Grandpa Pete. Kevin and Kristy joined us, along with Janet and Ellen. The boys assembled an artifical tree for the first time in their life, and it is the ugliest decorated tree with stockings and a potholder for decoration, but Grandma will admire it daily and remember her grandbabies.

Alex got to sit up with Grandma while she played the organ and church today. He was perfectly quiet and well behaved. Caleb got to go in early and plug in all of the Christmas lights.

We visited Great Granddad and Fran today. Caleb discussed football with his great Granddad, and Fran gave Jonas juice, so he loves her.

We had a lovely time with Jamie's family. The kids and husbands all play together so nicely.

There is a lot to be thankful for.

Today I battled the evil people of Manhattan to try to get good deals on stuff I really don't need. It was eye opening. I did find video games for the boys. They got two today, and one will be from Santa, for only $3 each. They have rotted their brains all day with them.

Caleb and I got started hanging Christmas lights on the house. We have icycles along the entire front. We are going to work on more later, after I dig out more lights from the basement.

I made a banana cream pie to take to thanksgiving dinner. Caleb helped, by chopping bananas. The boys got to eat "johnny cake" from the left over pie crust, and I taught Caleb how to make it, and explained that Grandma Estyl taught Grandma Brenda, who taught me, and now I am teaching him. My pie was picture perfect.

Happy Thanksgiving. They boys helped make mashed potatoes to take with us to Grandma and Granddad's house. Alex peeled and washed the potatoes, Caleb cubed the potatoes, and all three kids helped mix up the potatoes with the mixer when they were done cooking. We had a wonderful meal with the grandparents.

Yesterday, Alex performed his kata in karate perfectly. He had practiced several times a day, and was very proud of himself. He earns a patch for his uniform.

Today, Jonas had a Thanksgiving Family Feast at his preschool, he sang several songs, and Grandma even came and watched him. We went out to eat at the restaurant of his choice afterwards. (McDonald's)

Caleb has to take a "simple" snack in for a sharing feast tomorrow. He picked homemade dinner rolls. So, I made the dough this afternoon to give it plenty of time to rise, then had him knead it for 10 minutes. He complained the entire time, about how much work it was to make dinner rolls. But, when Alex tried to help, he complain that they were his rolls, and he should do the work. He was proud of the finished product.

We got to visit Karen and her family today. Carson is quite big these days, quite a cutie. It was nice to visit, too bad they live so far away.

Today, Jonas told me that he wants 10 kids, at first, he told me 10 boys, but then, he decided 5 girls and 5 boys would be good. That when he's a daddy, he won't need his blankie anymore, and he will give it to his kids, but they have to SHARE. He then told me that he will need my help, because he doesn't know where to get the babies from. Also, he doesn't know how to get to Super Walmart to buy crackers for his children, and he will need my help for that as well. Jared asked him if he was going to get a mom for these kids, and he looked at me, gave me a big hug, and told me "You can be the Mom!".

Alex is going to be General #1 in the school Christmas play. Caleb really wanted to be Santa, but, instead he is a green candy cane.

Today was the first snowfall of the year. I offered to drive Alex and Caleb to school, because it was quite cold outside, but they both wanted to walk. I did pick them up from school because all of the fun snow had melted, and all that was left was a very cold wind. They both were disappointed, and wished they got to walk home as well.

The boys had a karate tournament today. We left at 6 am, and got home at around 9:30 pm. It was a long day. Jonas got three silver metals, Alex got a second place trophy and one gold metal, and Caleb got a third place trophy and a second place trophy. They were all happy kids. Jonas got so worn out, he didn't even compete in his last two events, we went out to eat instead. All three kids also got a participation trophy, which Caleb declared was the coolest one ever offered.

Today, Caleb was in Manhattan's Veteran's Day Parade. He had a good time. He looked very grown up, marching out their with his classmates.

Jonas is getting over a cold. He had to miss school this past Tuesday, and got to spend the day cuddling with his blankie on the couch. Wednesday and Thursday morning, I wolk up to find his blankie on the couch, with him telling me, he was still feeling pretty sick, so he still needs his blankie. He also feels that sick kids should get to eat on the couch as well. He likes his special sick treatment.

There was no school today. Alex and Jonas and I got to drive to Manhattan to watch the parade. Afterwards all three boys played way too many video games.

Caleb tells me that he has a girlfriend, and her name is Essence. I have yet to met her, or determine what it is that makes her a girlfriend, rather than a friend that is a girl. Caleb was short on details.

It was a relaxing weekend. The weather allowed for a lot of trampoline time. We got to hang out with Grandma and Granddad on Saturday afternoon. Jared got the floor put in on the treehouse. I laid around in the hammock and read books.
