Yesterday was Caleb's Star Wars birthday party, with all of the family. The kids have had many light saber battles, since we now have more sabers than kids at this point. We also got to attend a halloween party at the grade school. Everyone had a good time, although we didn't win the costume contest. The kids came home with a ton of candy and prizes.
Today was the final soccer game for Alex and the final football game for Caleb. Caleb's team won 23 - 0, and Alex's team was tied 1-1. Jonas' preschool teacher had a son on each of the opposing teams today. Jonas stated that he was rooting for both teams, since Mrs. Grogan's son was on the other team. We also went trick or treating at Grandma and Granddad's tonight, so we won't waste any of our trick or treating time on the drive time tomorrow night.

We went to the lake today, toasted marshmellows, made smores, and threw rocks in the water. It was a very relaxing evening.

The costumes are finally done. All three kids can now trick or treat. After Caleb tried his on, he told me "this is much better than Darth Vader". Quite a compliment.

Jonas' preschool class took a field trip to a dentist office today. All of the kids got to ride in the chair, and Jonas had his teeth counted. He had a fun time.
Caleb scored a touchdown in football practice tonight, he was quite a happy kid.

We finally got our piano tuned, repaired, and ready to play today. I also finished up Jonas' halloween costume. He is going to be "super Jonas". It is complete with a yellow cape that says "JOnas". The boys had karate tonight. Jonas loves karate, and was thrilled.

Today Caleb's football team won 18 to 0. Alex's soccer team won 6 to 0. Good day for sports for the May household. After Alex's game, he went got to eat cake to celebrate Westley's birthday. (a teammate). It was a nice celebration.
The boys painted rocks today, to look like pumpkins, ghosts and skulls.

Today Alex and I planted 89 flower bulbs. We surrounded our front tree with tulips, and planted crocus next to the front door. I also added more iris out back, and some tiger lilies.
Jonas' costume is almost done. He had fun trying it on, so that I could hem the pants. He wants "big ears" on his hood. He is going to be "Super Jonas". I am going to make him a cape with a big "J" on it. His belt buckle is also going to say Jonas. He loves reading and spelling his name.
Alex is moving along quickly on the piano. I haven't given him a lesson in a few days, but, he sits down, and knows his songs very well.
Caleb had a good time at football practice today. he always complains on the way to his practices, but, climbs into the minivan all smiles, after having a fun time.

Today the boys and I spent the afternoon with Becky and Bill. Bill played with the boys, while Becky helped with the massive sewing project I have taken on. We got both pirate vests almost done, and the bandanas done. Caleb told me that it was cheating to have Becky help me, but then he was so pleased with how quickly it all came together, he wanted to leave the materials at her house for her to finish. All of the costumes are approaching the finished stage, I should have them done before the halloween party on Saturday.

Caleb is very excited to learn how to play the piano. I need to get lessons started for him, and his brothers soon, before the newness wears off. Caleb wants to learn "Fur Elise". He also strives to be better than me.
Caleb announced today that he plans on living in Chicago, wants to be either a pro football player (but doesn't plan on playing for the Bears), or be a teacher. Alex wants to be a "famous music star" or a video game tester. He is constantly wavering between future careers, but always states "or a video game tester". His dream job.

I spent about 8 or 9 hours working on halloween costumes. I am probably 1/4 of the way done with them. Jared assures me that I am making great memories for the kids. Caleb is so happy with his costume, that he told me that I was "the bomb", and should dress up as one for halloween so everyone would know. Jared then let me know, I could make that costume.
The boys are loving our piano. Jonas asked to pay it immediately after getting up this morning. We have a no piano before 8am rule, so that others can sleep in the morning. My first call to a piano tuner was a failure, but he gave me another name to call. It seems he is booked solid for awhile. I also had to fight with all of the boys at bedtime, the piano was calling them to stay awake.
The boys had karate tonight. I got to watch Alex and Caleb spar with each other. They were two very well behaved kids in class, amongst a group of roudy kids. It made me happy.
